Smack bang in the heart of the city, Midtown Manhattan is the central shopping and entertainment district of New York and is home to many of the famous landmarks including the Empire State Building, Times Square, Madison Square Gardens and the Museum of Modern Art.

You could easily spend a week exploring all that Midtown has to offer but some of our favorite things to do (that don’t cost a fortune) include relaxing while the sun is setting in beautiful Bryant Park, seeking refuge from the crowds in the cool, calm interior of the New York Public Library, eating lox and cream cheese bagels from one of the numerous deli’s in the area, playing The Big Piano at F.A.O Schwarz and exploring the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

Want to splurge? There are so many options to part with your cash in this part of the city – shopping at one of the many department stores on 5th Avenue (Bergdorf Goodman and Henri Bendel are two of ELE’s favourites), afternoon tea at the famous Plaza Hotel or sipping cocktails at Salon de Ning,  the rooftop bar at the Peninsula Hotel.

We haven’t even begun to touch on all that Midtown has to offer, we would love to hear from you about your favorite places to explore in this great part of the city!

I love NYC, and these are certainly some fantastic photos. There are so many things to see; the architecture alone is worth the trip. Wonderful that you were able to capture the architectural landscape in its glory.
